Wow, I'm amazed at the lack of problem solving skills of some people. If the accelerator is stuck, throw the bitch in neutral and put your foot on the brake. But we've all been saying that.

something's fishy...
I learned to drive on a car that was notorious for the carbs freezing in the winter... several times the sucker froze open and I shoved it in neutral and shut the thing off (flooded the piss out of the thing too). At the time, it was in the DMV manual what to do if the accelerator got stuck.

I figured on the electric power steering. The only manufacturer I could think of that uses it is BMW which is why I assumed. I didn't know the G6 had it and having driven one I never noticed it, which is how it is supposed to work.

There are a lot of people that panic in stressful situations and cannot function. I would think a CHP officer would do better than that though.
