For most larger companies it can be an expensive pain in the ass to upgrade. New programs also typically require more capable computers. I don't think 2007 does anything more than 2003 does, so why go through the hassle?

Why would I want to work for a company that cannot keep up with industry norms? Office 2007 has been out for 2 years now.

If a company is still on an older version that tells me a little something about the company.

The case can be made if that the company in question does not do a lot of B2B, or interact with a variety of clients then it's OK to milk an older productivity suite.

And for many companies, they move to the latest and greatest productivity software as soon as it's available. Hell, we've been planning and preparing for our Office 2010 tech preview rollout for months and plan to have it available to all users, along with Windows 7, by year's end.

What does Office 07 do that Office 03 doesn't? Why spend the money, time, and effort for no benefit?
