bullshit. games are eventually going to outgrow the limited size of a dvd. it was dumb when sega did it but sony is on point with that decision.

games are eventually going to be on demand as well. Sony/Xbox/Nintendo are already heading in that direction.

You mean, downloading a game to your hard drive and having anytime you want and also not having to get different discs out or worry about if the new tech can play the old games and being able to transfer those games to your next system without needing the old memory makes zero sense? Yes, progressing tech pass the point for a need of easily damaged worthless packaging makes little sense at all........

as things stand now, (most of the time) when i buy a game i also recieve the storage for that game. taking away that storage is NOT progress. cant you xbox guys load games to your hd already anyway? or did they not carry that over?

What's to stop your blu ray disc from wearing out or getting damaged? There are negatives and unknowns to all mediums, this idea of having it in your hands will go away, it's not a question of if, but when. It has already begun on gamefly/wii/360/PS3. If it is a monthly service or a pay per license will be up to the companies, but the gamers will still pay. You got to remember, it's not what's best for you, but what makes them the biggest profit.

Harddrives fail a lot more than a rom drive. I want something physical to hold, not virtual.
I blame console owners for my PC stress. I cant play any Valve game without Steam being on and I cant even install the damn games without Steam on. I have the disc but nnnnnnnooooooooooooo it downloads the game instead of taking a couple minutes installing from the disc. Even with a cable connection its retarded. |

Sorry Dave but I have to agree with this. Just look at the new PSP-Go, it's download only if I'm not mistaken. Besides, why else put such large hard drives in the new consoles? 250G is a fucking ass load of space for a game system that primarily uses disks for software. |
