It does much more than that... I've coached a lot of riders to stop locking their 'bows and using their cores to support themselves... it can add serious miles to your distance capabilities.

For me it's about having my wrists in the same position for long periods... and the vibes don't help. Again, it could be carpal tunnel.

my hands used to go numb on my Triumph. I would just start drumming my fingers on the levers to get some movement.

long trips my legs tend to cramp up a bit so on sport bikes I will "stand up" to stretch.

On the bike I have now, everything seems pretty good except the posterior. Haven't figured out what to do for that other than stop and walk around a little bit.

Wild... you simply need to use some hwy pegs and/or pass pegs if you don't have a passenger.

yeah I was looking at the hwy pegs last year. I may put them on yet. Pass pegs would work as well. yeah she won't ride with me. LOL

As a side note, I've found that standing up gets tail-gaters to back the hell off REALLY fast
