I've hit doves twice, but never a turkey buzzard. I know a dove hurts like hell when you catch it in the chest at 80mph; I can't imagine something that big.

Haven't hit a bird, yet. Hope I don't, but at least I have a windshield to protect me from most of em.

My guess is he panicked and ham-fisted the controls... Fuck I ran over a dozen decoy geese at 80mph and no crashy... Plenty of guys have taken out a deer without crashing.

I'm gonna go on a limb and say the mexican turkey was in the road and dum dum didn't slow down. It amazes me how people think these are like doves and just fly off in a second. If the are in the road and are eating you better fucking slow down cause they fill their bellies up right then. They can't just fly off. They first have to vomit everything up to drop the weight.
I was told a story when a guy driving his company truck had one go through his windshield. They had to demo the truck cause it stuck so bad. |

Pfffffft, amateurs. I've been hit time and again by birds. As in, you know how birds will fly and dodge at the last minute? For me they don't dodge.
The little ones don't hurt much, but Turkey vultures do.... just sayin' |

I hit a crow at about 100. Hurt like hell and left a huge bruise on my shoulder.
