Nice part of working at a dealership
is trade ins We have a customer who regularly trades his bikes out (about 8 this year) and last Saturday he decided to trade his (2nd) 08 ZX-10 w/ about 1700 miles on it.
So today it was nice and I took it to lunch It's the first zx-10 I've gotten to ride and it was impressive. Did about 15 miles with a a short 3 mile interstate run at the end to get a feel for her. It's an impressive bike, doesn't like staying at the speed limits Still, I'll wait to get my FZ1 when I can cause I just can't ride a supersport for any length or time comfortably. I do like the trade ins though cause I get to test ride them if it's something I want to ride. Did a shakedown on an 05 Concourse the other day for the techs since they were busy, not bad. I think the new ones would ride much better but haven't gotten a chance to ride one yet. Done test rides on a few R6's that are awesome handling bikes. We'll see what's next. |

I'm *almost* jealous! I say almost since you haven't gotten to test ride any of the bikes I've been drooling over.

Yeah Dave, that thing is just insanely powerful. First modern 10 I've been on period and compared to the 600's it's a whole different animal. I don't think I passed 10K in any gear, it just felt too strong and I'm not totally comfortable on a supersport anyway since I don't ride one all the time. Getting on the interstate i decided to give it just a little twist as I shifted in to second and as I hit 3rd I was passing 100mph in just a few seconds. It was a little twist too, I wouldn't want to pin the throttle on that one till I get some more seat time
Damn it was fun though :nana: and of course if it doesn't sell right away I'll have to take it to lunch once and a while to keep the battery charged and the gas moving through the injectors Rogue, they're all fun when you don't have to buy it and live with it :P |

Eric, you might get to test ride them. But I get to take them home
My bike has been sitting at my shop for about three weeks, I just brought her home yesterday. In those weeks that she has been there I've had an 09 Speed Triple (for two weeks) and an 08 Daytona 675 this past week

Curb,
Carolina, that zx-10 is the best one so far. I've gotten to take a couple '08 R6's for a test run which were sweet too. We haven't gotten very many sportbikes for trades this year so I haven't had a lot to choose from. On the cruisers, none of them really stand out compared to my VTX other than the Yamaha Raider. I did get to take our demo home one night and put about 40 miles on it on familiar roads. If I wanted another cruiser I'd be trading for one of them. That is one sweet ride for a cruiser! The '05 Concourse was, interesting I guess. Decent power for it's weight and it is heavy. I hit the interstate w/ it and the wind from the trucks had it wagging its ass like a happy dog at 85-90 mph. Kind of unsettling, but wasn't so bad at 65-70. It was weird because I couldn't feel the bike lean or push as a whole, just the back wagging back and forth. It put off a lot of heat behind the shield and fairing also, would suck in the summer. I want to take a new Connie for a decent test ride. I've ridden one in the parking lot but that's it. |

cool, thought the concourse would have been a nicer ride looks like a pretty nice bike. Thats sounds like the price may be high if it rides that rough at speed for a sport tourer. I rode the new zx6 so I can only imagine the 10.
oh shit i just saw you said 05. would it be a sufficient tourer though?

Hey Curb... what did you think of the Daytona??? I found one online that some idiot put down on the left side... but not bad, just some scratched fairings. And it was a fairly reasonable price because of that. How are the ergos for the street... cause I heard they were rough.
