yeah I love going in there for windshield wipers and they ask if I have a 4cyl or 6cyl motor... if it's manual or auto.... if it's 4x4 or 2x4...

Well that's one good thing about living in this area of NC which is the center of NASCAR country. (enter redneck jokes here)
AT least most of the kids that work around the auto shops here seem very helpful and fairly knowledgable. They like performance cars and bikes and that's a good thing. |

I've had similar experiences at ALL auto parts places, save one old shop I used to have a regular relationship with (had an account with them). Even then, only perhaps two cats in the fucking store had a clue, and if they weren't there, I'd call back.
Getting parts is always a clusterfuck. National parts stores typically only compound such a difficult situation. Add a phone, and you're just askin' fer it.
