The one question I have is about the installation. My adjusters came with a piece that you place on the back side of the swing arm and bolt to the adjuster. It acts like a clamp to keep the adjuster straight. I'm also interested in how tight the bike's axles were and if they were correctly torqued. I also believe that the guy's nut was on the opposite side from stock, I wonder if that had anything to do with it. I'll let you know if I hear anything from them. Oh and weren't both those bikes older? As in Gilles may have changed the part since then? I won't comment on the fact that the first bike was a 500hp 'Busa....

Were Gilles a known quality before you bought them and measured them? If so how did you know?

ya, but if your trying to pay off 2 million dollars worth of cnc equipment, metals, and labor, stuff gets pricey.

I've got the giles on my bike... they're cool.. but I got them for the looks... don't really seam that much easier to adjust the chain than before...

BUT... i have heard from several people that they've seen cracks develop in these... both in the Giles and other brands... so be aware of that...

I'm happy with mine... though I'd probably save the money if I had it all to do again as I'm selling the RR

does it really make it easier to adjust the chain? Ebbs, yours isn't the first response I've seen like that

So, back to my original question:

Don't you have any other hobbles? I had seen them and touched them in real life before I bought them. There will always be a first time for every product right? I had never rode a 2006 GSXR 1000 before I bought this one. Sometimes, you have to take some things on faith but if you are familiar with the manufacturer, you are buying the product from a reputable source and you have gotten good references from people that you trust, you can take a measly $150 chance. In the case of the "knock offs" I doubt that any of those conditions exist. Shit, I bought a $4,000 tv based on Consumer Reports, brand recognition/loyalty, and a 15 min demo!!! Dude you're trying too hard... if I didn't own Gilles chain adjusters I would be far less enthusiastic in recommending them.
