I remember watching something on this Biography channel about this a year or two ago. From what I can remember it is a lot different than it used to be back in the day. Most people have a stereotypical view of the Russian mail order bride but from what I can remember most of these women are pretty picky today. It costs a lot of money to bring a 'wife' over and since conditions in Russia have gotten a lot better in the last couple decades the women want to be sure it will damn well be worth it so you better have a great job and lots of money in the bank. I don't know anyone who has done this but this is what I took away from that show.

Personally a mail order bride doesn't interest me in the slightest. I have always (with 1 exception) dated women who were very career minded and goal oriented and would rather have that than a 'stay at home' mom type. My cousin grew up spoiled as shit because her parents had money, she is in her senior year at a private college going for acting paying 40k plus a year. I asked her what her plans were and her response was 'try acting for a year or two then be a stay at home mom' and I wanted to punch her for wasting all that money on college. She got her wish though because she just got engaged to Tom Watson's (the pro golfer) son. My point is, as said before there are the women with the so called 'traditional family values' (a myth in my opinion) here in the USA, funny how a lot of guys here are bitching about women being money grubbing whores and all but what do you think a mail order bride is some kind of super female that isn't going to do the same shit?
