If I was a career criminal I'd be taking a plane for Chi-town.

and thats the problem, they limit guns, so guns find a different way to get into the hands of criminals, while law abiding folks get screwed

I've lived in Chicago for 22 years.....Dailey is a crook himself. In fact the whole Chicago political system is crooked (not to mention the Chicago cops).

Fucking Democrats.

[threadjack]wasn't Obama raised on the Chicago political system? [/threadjack]

I just love ignorant comments like this from people who clearly have no concept of logic or reason...from the article:

Some residents applauded the vote.

"There's just too much killing going on (and) we need protection," said Mary Fitts, a retiree who came from her home on the South Side to watch the vote. "You can't even sit on your front porch."...

Maybe if people could sit on their front porch with a gun, they would have the protection they need. They don't even need to sit on the front porch with a gun, but if they had the ability to do so, maybe there wouldn't be so much killing going on. And if Chicago's 28 year gun ban was so effective, why is there so much killing going on?

Fucking idiots.

It's not about "safety". It's about control. If you control the law abiding citizens and do whatever you want to the crimminals, you have 100% control of the people.

The only thing that keeps Chicago afloat is their name. Other than that there is no other reason to be there or do business with Chicago. I'd rather be in Milwaukee if I had to be in that part of the country.

I'd also pay $100 to watch Daley walk through his gun free city at night by himself with no body guards (or guns) or cops. Fucking tool.
If you went just outside the loop, you weren't in the "real" Chicago. You were in the projects.

This may come as a big shock to you, but most cities have them and none of them are nice places to be.

I lived in Chicago for 6 years and if it weren't for the long cold winters, I still would.

Default I Love my country but fear my government.

I Love my country but fear my government. This legislature only further reinforces this idealogy.

I can't see how keeping the law abiding citizens from be able to freely acquire, maintain and carry guns will help keep the gun crimes down. It was said earlier that the 28 yr ban didn't stop that kid from being shot on the bus. If a crook wants a gun, he WILL GET A F'IN GUN. But the law abiding citizen who if was carrying concealed saw said criminal pull his illegally obtained weapon out and threaten the life of another citizen, pulled his weapon and splattered the brain pan all over the wall. That might send a message to other criminals perhaps we don't want to pull a gun here as we may actually get shot by some one who actually gives a shit about this city.

As for the keeping only one operational weapon in the house; that is just rediculous. I am gonna buy a gun and basically break it down and make it not work any more. FUCK YOU.

I like the class time and the range time part of the law. OK. so when I am done with said class I can carry concealed? NOPE, FUCKED AGAIN.

A house with guns and children have to be maintained in lockboxes or trigger locks. I have one word to argue this one with - EDUCATION!!!! IF you educate your children and tell them what the weapon is capable of, they will understand the consequences better. Next, take them to the range and let them shoot it. Take the mystery out of it and they will not be tempted. My daughter shot my glock .40 when she was 5 years old and to this day my wife and I leave our LOADED pistols on the coffee table or on our bedside tables and the kids never even look at them any more than they would the daily newspaper.

There is only one thing that can be called gun control; proper gun fundamentals!!! Steady breathing, sight picture, trigger squeeze, rinse and mother F'in repeat.

I hate that lieberals think that making it harder for the average guy is gonna keep gun crimes down. It was brought up to my shift at work tonight that the single most important factor in what a person decides to do, whether right or wrong is consequence. If something will get me immediate dead, ie getting shot by a concealled weapon carrying citizen, then I wont do said action. But, if I can commit the crime and then deal with the slow ass courts and if my lawyer is good enough, I will have what I want and only have to give up 6 months of my time in prison for it, shit its worth it.
