Admit it, you watched your share of red rover incidents as a child, there is nothing safe about it.

But the story is slightly mis leading. It has less to do with the games and more to do with overnight of summer camps, which in nyc remind me more of crack houses than anything else

Admittedly our Red Rover games looked more like a cross between NFL Football and dwarf tossing.

That's been the rule here for a while. Oh and kids sports (soccer, football, baseball): they're not allowed to keep score so there's no "losing" team so the kids don't "feel bad."

You know, there are times that I'm glad we tend to be 10 years behind you guys, on the trends.

Wife and i had a discussion on that and how all kids get trophies. Told her if his team sucks and he doesnt do well that trophy gets tossed, none of this BS in rewarding mediocrity or worse.

I had a parent yell at me at a tournament a few years back (I'm usually a center judge for kumite and forms) about making their kid feel bad because he came in third. I just shook my head at that.

Eventually the guy kept going and we tossed him out.

The parents are ridiculous esp in suburbia. my sister tells me these stories now since my nephew is 6 and plays hockey and baseball (hes a bit of a runt so he got his clock cleaned in football) and some of the parents are nuts.

Coaches will like me, I wont be yelling at them I will be telling the other parents to STFU, your kid sucks so that means you must suck too so sit down and shut up
