Lost a fellow rider yesterday...
...but not to a motorcycle accident. Yesterday we got word at my unit that one of ours was KIA in a VBIED attack in Afghanistan.
SSG Nelson Trent was a close friend of mine, who above all else in this mortal world adored his wife and two young children. He was one of the best NCOs I have ever had the honor to serve with. I miss the goofy motherfucker.. the man was, even in the worst of times, always positive. He always knew how to put a smile on everyone's faces around him, and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I know I don't post up here much... work and school keep me pretty busy these days. But I felt the need to share this.. because he was a rider.. but above all, he was a Soldier, a father, a husband, a brother, a son, and a damn good friend of mine. Miss you, battle buddy. See you on the other side.
