When I was done playing, it would also help me to get a moment to rationally look at the situation from a refreshed perspective rather than seeing things from the one perspective I was trapped in. He didn't specifically say 'go buy and xbox', rather implied getting a new game for the systems I already had, but regardless, the guy was right. It was the mental break I needed at a time when all I could think about was how completely fucking miserable I was. Any moment I wasn't thinking about the divorce was fucking magic at the time.
Yeah...riding & surfing the internet for reading material was/is my getaway from shit life throws at me. I read tons of freakin' medblogs....don't ask me how I got started on that, especially since I don't work in a med field (but love the things I learn in them). I only frequent one or two forums. But riding is my ultimate therapy. Some decent tunes on an MP3 player & a road to ride. I think of nothing but the ride. Being alert for dumbass cagers, debris, etc to the technicalities & attempting to hone my riding skills, pushing myself a little more each time...to the smells of fresh cut grass, the warm sun as it (over)heats me, the beauty of my surroundings. I always finish a ride with a smile on my face, a clear head, & reshreshed. A friend calls it one of life's best bandaid's.

My knee pads may be Air-Ride and chrome plated but I have standards as to who I use them on.
