If they can be screwed up by GPS I think they would be fucked with paper. You can screw up with both if you don't know what you are doing. One thing that works really well riding/driving is to look out the window. If there isn't a road where the gps is telling you to go then it might be wrong. If you don't have a road where a map is telling you that there is one, then maybe you have the map upside down or your looking at the wrong spot on the map.

Some people are just stupid. I have done fine without GPS and without maps at times but I would like to have a GPS to help out every now and then.
