I can't speak for everyone else, but you know as well as I do how the slippery slope comes into play when it comes to the government in general.

Plenty of people including myself bitch about slippery slope re: Patriot Act, so there's nothing wrong with bitching about slippery slope re: gun laws.

Those in power want us to believe that the more control we give them, the safer they can keep us. The sad part is how many people can accept that sort of dependence and really believe we're better off that way.

basically, this law is another version of other laws that have been put in place in places in europe and other places in the world. the Govts thought that by controling and regulation the guns owned by it's citizens, that it would reduce crime.
basically what happened, is almost every type of weapon became outlawed and in some cases confiscated because all the law obiding citizens had followed the rules and registered their guns. as laws got tighter and guns were taken, the crime rate sky rocketed. only the criminals then had guns. they knew that they were safe to do just about anything they wanted with very little fear of retaliation from their victims.... this law is the U.S.'s first step in that direction...... from my cold dead hands..........
