Seen in December's CW
Part of the feedback from a reader:

My thoughts: I've seen stupid shit from both cruiser riders AND sportbike riders (and dual-sport riders, etc). It's the "1%'er" crowd that give "the rest of us a bad name with immature, unsafe, and usually illegal riding habits on public streets" regardless of what they ride, not just sportbike riders. Discuss.

They have no idea what a 1%'er is.

I've seen more stupid shit done on sport bikes than on cruisers. It probably has everything to do with the maturity level too. Usually the SB crowd is younger and the cruiser crowd is older. Plus a cruiser doesn't have the power to weight ratio like a SB.

Yeah...show some maturity and stop using the loud pipes save lives bullshit as you rev your obnoxious motor at every stop, gas station, parking lot, residential neighborhood at all hours of the night and day as you ride from one bar to the next.

That annoys me to no end. When i see a "loud pipes saves lives" sticker I want to punch them in their fucking face. I can hear a stock Harley with no problems.

Around here I've seen tools on both types of bikes. I will say that I've seen more on sportbikes but that probably is because it's a younger average age on these bikes.
There are several higher end 'custom cruiser' tupe bikes about here with the bigger engines and it never fails when they see the wife and I on our sportbikes they love to show me what they have. I used to own a BigDog Bulldog so I know about these bikes and like them but it's definitely not JUST the sportbike riders around here that like to show off. |

Everyone thinks it's someone else.
The canyon carvers think it's the stunters with their stupid wheelies, nonexistent blinkers / mirrors / etc and helmet mohawks. The stunters think it's the Harley guys with their stupid loud exhausts and drinking stops. The Harley guys think it's the canyon carvers with their Power Ranger suits and high speeds. Everyone needs to look in the mirror and be courteous instead of pointing fingers. |
