Do you loan your stuff out?
Cruzergirl’s thread lead to this.
Do you loan your stuff out? Do you set limits based on value or reparability? Based on how old it is? Emotional significance? What do you expect from the borrowers? For the sake of discussion let’s keep it to items of significant value: bikes, cars, boats homes, etc.

Depends what it is... if at all, it's only to VERY close, trustworthy friends, or family.

I rarely loan stuff (of any decent value) out. I probably have 2 or 3 friends and a few family members that I would loan anything of value to. I'd just rather avoid the hassle of others not taking care of my stuff like what happened in Cruzergirl's situation.

I may loan an article of clothing to someone, or perhaps a book, but never something of value. NO ONE drives my car or rides my bike, nor do I loan money to anyone. I may give money as a gift if I have it, but never a loan.

I'd borrow your Katoom.
The responses so far are intriguing. I'd love to dissect this further.

"I'll loan to close friends or family."
Except the bike. Only the b/f can ride it, and that's only only for test rides. He fixed it, he's the one that gets to crash if it's screwed up.
