They'll walk you through the same steps and get you the same exact result. Any further digging (and it'd be crazy NOT to do more) is all on you. And Tax Act only includes free e-file for federal returns, with a pretty hefty price for a state filing. Turbo Tax offers the same, but you have to pay for the SW upfront (unless you use purchased Quicken, then you get the SW free as well).

The only thing I liked better about Turbo Tax is it imported all my information from Quicken. Didn't need to wait on W-2's, mortage and student loan interest docs, etc. to prepare a very accurate return. Minor touch-ups when the real docs arrived.

I agree real accountant.

I did H&R block last year and they wouldn't let me write off half my stuff for work because they didn't know anything about my industry.

Tax act isnt bad, but add in the cost of filing state and its worth it for turbo tax to import all my info from last year.

H&R did teh same thing to me a few years back, I went to them to have them do my taxes and the guy wouldnt let me write off a bunch of stuff that i had written off each year before that, it was enough stuff that it actually made a huge difference. Thats when i moved to turbo tax. Turbo tax is awesome for home owners, kids, and all that junk.
