Selling a bike
We are selling my wife's bike-probably on Craigslist. My question is-How do you take care of the test ride thing ? Normally for anything CL, I will meet people in a local parking lot away from my house.
I say this because I know I wouldn't buy a bike without a test ride, but I don't want to get screwed if some test driving a hole drops it. So what's the smart thing to do? |

Ask for the cash in exchange for a test ride, they break it they buy it.

Yep.
You can ride it all you want. You just have to give me a small deposit, like let's say, my full asking price. JC

Every time I've ever bought a bike, I show up on my bike to check the potential new steed out. I have never asked for a test ride. I have always been asked if I wanted to try it out. Just depends on the cirumstance obviously, but for Craigslist and all the BS on there these days, I'd sure let people know up front how things will go down.

Also, I would get a look at their driver's license ( it would be good to copy their info off the DL to make out the cash receipt ) |

Yeah, I saw a CL listing for a fity that said, "test rides available for $350. Bring the bike back and you get your money back if you don't still want."
As for the counterfeiting pen....well, would be pretty hard to reprint money like that and not notice I am thinkin, but, if your sellin for high value might not be a bad idea.
