Oh yeah, but when he (a movie star) ran for governor, they started comparing him to Reagan and questions of his eligibility to hold the presidency came up.

John Tory. You wouldn't know him. He ran for Mayor of Toronto and was the leader of Ontario's Progressive Conservative Party for a few years. He lost the election for Premier of Ontario, against a lying sack of shit, because he stood by his principles.

I mean, to some extent this occurs with lots of men in elite roles.
Politicians, movie stars, musicians, athletes... it's just that, in politics, the wives are usually more willing to keep quiet and protect the man's image while in office.
They still get their book deal down the road.

The GOP even wanted to amend the constitution to let him run...that's until the fucking black guy won, and then it was all about his ineligibility, and his birth certificate, and the birth argument did a complete fucking 180, as only the Republicans can do.
