EXACTLY! I have told all my gf's that. I still have to remind the current gf of that from time to time around hunting, but she's pretty good overall.

So my answer is Bike over woman.

Rider over non-rider.
They understand your need to get out and be free.
My gf is not nearly as avid a rider as I am, but because she does ride, she understands how and why I just take off and go for hours at a time.
Other girls just don't get it.

Also, if she's a rider, that means she's got her own so she won't be on the back of mine killing my fun!

Bike don't bitch if you don't call it/text it. If something is broke/sounds off, you can diagnose and fix it.

Easy- a rider! Of course, How often do we get the choice?

See, I think a lot of guys say this, but in reality very few guys date girls that ride (for whatever reason). In fact, among my friends, I know very few who has an SO that rides, and many have actively chosen non-riders.

I'm not sure what my preference is.

On one hand, it'd be cool to have a woman you enjoy motorcycling with, on the other hand, riding is a solitary thing for me, a stress reliever. Sure I like to go out riding with friends, but the vast majority of it I do alone, when im stressed, need to think, etc etc.

Not sure how having a woman who likes to ride would affect that.

What I definately dont want, is a woman who only rides bitch.

That's cause a lot of us can't be too picky

But really, the amount of riders vs non riders in the world is pretty unbalanced.

For example, I know 8 females that ride in the general area of where I live.
All of these are taken and their guy rides as well.
There are a lot more guys in the same area that ride.
Buddy of mine has a gf that enjoys riding as a pass, but has no want to get her own bike. her lack of true understanding of what drives us to get on the bike has caused him to miss a few rides for other more "civilized" activities.

i hear ya. Ideally it'd be good if someone liked to both ride with you and alone.

I think I'm in a worse place than the guys though. I can't see dating a non-rider because they just don't understand what a big part of my life that is.

Why? You have 10 times the choices we do.

+ fucking one.

Your with me, you take the original product, with all the flaws and defects.

The toys are a part of who I am. I am going on my ninth season of riding street. I even sold my RC51 just before summer '06, with plans to go that summer without a bike. I couldn't do it, 2 weeks later, I woke up to a bright, hot, sunny day. Less than 8 hours later, I had a shiny, new CBR1kRR home in the yard.

last summer, coming off 3rd degree burns, in constant pain, I still couldnt leave the bike in the garage. I didnt ride it a lot, but I did still ride enough to get my fix. I feel the same way about snowmobiles, now that I have one, if theres snow, I will have a sled.

So no go, a chick tries that shit, find the road. My relationship with my bikes has been far more meaningful than any relationship i've had so far with a woman (even though there were a few I crazy about).

They dont need to understand what a big part of your life it is, they just need to understand that you love it, and arent stopping anytime soon.

very easy choice there. rider over non rider in a heartbeat. however we usually don't get to choose between two like that.
