I do not park on the sidewalk or in striped areas for HC stalls.
I do park in striped areas at the end of isles or corner areas. If I can't find one of those areas, I park in a stall. |

Parking space... All the way up to the front of it with my bike angled so I take the whole front of the space. The only time I've seen a bike knocked over by a car (presumably) was when it had it's tail out close to the end of the space... I'd imagine giving the jackass whipping his car into the spot more of an opportunity to stop is a good rule of thumb.

See I guess my thought process if if you leave part of it visible the car wouldnt swing in at all...where as if you were in to far thats when they barrel into a spot and fuck your shit up.

I agree with OSP, but depending on the store/location, I will park on the sidewalk too. I've often parked next to the lawn mowers out front of many a hardware store. |

There are very few places I actually park my bike since it is mostly a toy and not used so much for commuting/transportation.
Gym - sidewalk Work - parking spot (teachers park away from the school where there is tons of parking so no need to worry about taking a spot) Stopping to eat after a ride - parking spot...but I am always with the hubby so we have two bikes for one spot. |

I never park in a Handicap space or crowd one, but in a large lot, say Walmart for instance, I park in regular parking slot as a last resort. There are usually places that are safer that don't infringe on anyone else to park. If I do park in a parking space I try to leave the bike out far enough so that some fool won't swing in and nail my bike... and then back up and take off.
