very true...

I agree with what the Sheriff SAID... but to be honest... he didn't do his job.

he and many of us here are ASSUMING that much of this didn't happen ie the guys sticking their head in the window and screaming at her.

the sheriff's job is to investigate and find out if it did.

as for her complaint wanting the people in charge of the funeral procession ticketed/fined... his explanation to me... was just.

From the Sheriff, "Per your request, I will forward your complaint to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office for his review. It is my personal opinion that your complaint is self-serving and without merit."

He did his job.

no he passed the buck.

I doubt every complaint goes directly to the prosecuting attorney's office...

they're supposed to be handled at the lowest possible level.. he didn't even attempt to look into it (from the sounds of it... no way to know for sure)

He's the sheriff. He has people who do that stuff for him.

You're in the military, you should know how the chain of command works.

If somebody walks up to your sergeant and asks him to clean up the lawn in front of his office, he doesn't run out with a rake. He gets privates or corporals to do it.

hence starting at the lowest level... the prosecuting attorney is not a lower level than the sheriff when it comes to complaints in that office.

that'd be like my flight cheif sending a complaint about our office to the base legal office for investigation...

or in your example it'd be like him calling base CE to go take care of the lawn rather than have the Airmen do it (I'm Air Force not Army )
