Politics aren't really important to me, but religion is a huge one. An absolute deal breaker.
Had a live-in girlfriend convert to Christianity after being brainwashed at our local megachurch in Grapevine. Decided she was going to be celibate, refused to read anything that wasn't the Bible or "Purpose Driven Life", general craziness. Didn't work out so well, lol.

Discussing politics is like discussing religion: either you agree or you get into a fight.
Having political views is a different thing from discussing politics. Having a real commitment to social justice and progressive values is a different thing from having a real commitment to fascist right-wing psychoses. Either way, you have a commitment that doesn't need discussion. Having faith in God is a different thing from being an unbeliever. Committing the error of subscribing to some belief system because someone you respect told you to is a far cry from evaluating things based on objective reality. If you don't have the same commitment to the people of this world as does you partner, and if you believe in a vastly different meaning to all of existence, then I see no way that any relationship will last. Unless she has big tits.
