Somebody did a special on the central station a year or two ago.
Its like Chernobyl and Silent Hill inside each other. Would be cool to go treasure hunting in all that. |

They don't call it Detoilet for nothing. Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Joe Louis Arena are the ONLY places in the city limits I will go and I am willing to pay a fortune for good parking close to the venues. Other than those places I have no reason to go into Detroit. The auto show, bike show, boat show...etc are not even in the Detroit city limits. They have those way out in Novi.

An interesting video along the same lines.
*Warning to the the butt hurt: You may not like his commentary. It isn't 100% accurate. It's right wing propoganda, blah, blah, blah.* Still a decent walk through the city: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hhJ_49leBw

seems like now days it's not as fasionable to help out Americans who are suffering. Makes you look so much more like a true giver of life if you give your money internationally.

Okay, I am not typically one to get into a political debate, but Detroit did not suffer a natural disaster. It suffered years of supporting a dying industry. Throwing money at Detroit isn't going to save it.

At the time haiti is a 3rd world country that bareley functioned and was living off a lot of aid anyway. So now were going to rebuild them and still have to support them anyway.

yeah of course we did have very limited trade with Haiti as in, we can't, and there were those pesky travel warnings issued 7 months ago because 60 americans were kidnapped and some killed. but yeah i guess when they need money then they think we're ok.
