Brake cleaner also removes paint from painted calipers. Ask me how I know.

Back when the Navy used to have Halon extinguishers in all the engineering spaces we were told that as soon Halon hit an open flame it makes Phosgene gas-which is toxic. So basically if you get caught in a fire you could choose to die by the fire of the agent that puts the fire out. Good old Navy to put people first.
