Thumbs up Morgan 3 wheeler

From Cyril's Blog

Morgan, the iconic British brand founded by Harry Morgan, is launching this new 3 Wheeler model with a sporty bullet shape and exposed chassis design reminiscent of the 30′s but updated with a 21st century technology (see design evolution in a video after the jump.) How to call this machine with a “Race On Sunday” philosophy? A Trike, Sport Car, Speeding Bullet, Pod Racer? Let others decide when you start and launch down the road your missile equipped with a polished S&S fuel injected V-Twin engine (approved on US and European roads) mated to a Mazda 5 speed transmission with reverse. Let’s trust Morgan when they state that weight of the engine is counterbalanced by the mass of the passengers and that this 3 Wheeler has a planted feel with a very low centre of gravity to ensure it remains glued to the road.

Unique decals are available and include special designs including US military and British Air Force inspired logos, oval racing numbers and stripes, a fearsome shark nose, chequered winner’s bonnet, official national flags and the Morgan wings. Bespoke leather and paint, polished engine, stainless steel tailpipes, cowl, polished cowl, headlamps and roll hoops are extra cost options. Pricing starts at £ 25,000 (US$34,500). Morgan Motor UK.

What do you think? I think it's sweet, but the price tag hurts.

Steam-punkish. Do like.

Rather retro-futuristic, and kinda art-deco. A faded poster of one, leaning forward into the wind, with painted wisps trailing behind it is pinned on the old garage wall in your mind.

It probably registers as a bike in most places, gets good mileage, is super practical (in a totally race car impractical kinda way), and looks totally retro doing it.

Love it.

Put a fourth wheel on it. 3 wheels are retarded, especially when they are that skinny.

I dig that.

I think it would be cool if something like that was offered as a kit that would accept an I4 motorcycle engine and cost less than $10K. I'm thinking that same retro styling, but with something like a Hayabusa/GSXR1000 powerplant and some better rubber.

Edit: Got interested, and started looking. Lots of cool stuff over here, including three-wheelers, four-wheelers, and shifter karts. If I can find a way to afford it, I will seriously consider selling my Formula to build one.
