So lucky. Taco is a pain in my ass. He runs around the house like a maniac and ALWAYS wants to play. I'll play with him, but instead of me wearing him out, he wears me out.

He's been doing very well with commands and tricks lately (we just got him to do "paw!") but when he gets all hyper and crazy, its hard to control him. Pain in my ass, but when he calms down and give you that cute look with those eyebrows, it makes me happy that he's our dog.

you need a bigger yard. Lucy used to be like that until I got to where I could let her run. we have a large yard so I throw a ball as far as I can and soon she decides that sunbathing in a nice spot is the way to go. sleeps like a baby.
another thing is to have a friend with a dog come over. Lucy will run like a banshee with anther dog and they seem to stay close because they both seem to keep each other within the boundarys.
the last thing I would say is what I do to let her run especially in the beginning and still now sometimes is I have a 30 foot lead that I put on her and then let her run. the idea being if she plays her you can't catch me game she doesn't realize how long the lead is and I can always get that. now days I very seldom have to grab her, she has learned that come means come or you're not going to get to play for a day or two. I bought the lead at Cabelas for training hunting dogs. nice thick rope so it's sturdy, and yeah she gets it caught about once a month. usually on tires of my jeep as she runs around it.

that is so funny. people used to ask us why we didn't just give up on Lucy because of her antics as a pup. we would tell them because she was a retard and no one else would take her in. LOL they can seriously try your patience at times.
