Not exactly. The plan needs to pay for the replacement. The replacement cost more they what is paid for the plan. They would price them on what they think they will have to pay out. Price it too low and the plan could cost the store money.

When I did my used car business the plans for some cars were pretty cheap. The plans on the Land Rovers were expensive.

It is another product for the store to sell. Profit is what runs a business.
