The Swiss government stepped in and made them phase out supply for three years. Otherwise some very well known watchmakers would've gone out of business. Brietling would've been one of them.

Cool! I was just saying that I used to own at least 10 Swatch watches in the 80s. They always had goofy shapes and colors!

Also, Seiko is all over the map not just "fashion Jewlery". I'd put the Seiko Spring Drive in the luxury category.

Tigger, Most people that are into watches and maybe even collect them arent into the "Bling" factor. That Rolex FT posted is probably the UGLIEST watch I've ever seen.

What we appreciate is the "Movement" inside the watch. The gears, spring's, levers, latches,ECT. that make the watch function.

If all you want is bling then get it. But dont spend hundreds of dollars on it. Your throwing your money away. The jewels used in those watches are garbage if not fake and are worth nothing.

THANKS! That's what I was looking for! So my best bet for that kind of watch is probably some cheap watch like this...$25 shipped.

Same here. The BX at Ramstein and Edwards seemed to have a hard on for those things. They sure looked super fancy next to the $5 POS digital watches, but never quite had the pure functionality of the $10 calculator watches, and they definitely lacked the pure sex appeal of the much vaunted Super Mario Bros or Zelda watches that they had proudly on display in a plastic shrine.

The Steve Madden is worth every penny. The Bulova is a little much for me.

Rolexes are overrated and don't keep the best time. However, people recognize them and know the name, so you can get them for that effect.

I have a Breitling. It will keep better time than a rolex all year long.

Those watches in the first post aren't worth your money, btw...
