I don't have any money until I'm out of grad school. Then I will have plenty, hence getting a truck and another bike in the beginning of next year.

I will be getting a motard because

1. 60-70 miles a gallon.
2. Actually fun to ride on the street.

400sm's get around 40 to 50, less if you mod it or get another more high preformance brand, they also have a small tank. They aren't that much fun commuting/regular street riding because they aren't a very comfortable ride. It's mostly just made to go be a hooligan on.
