Plexiglass-covered lights look good when they're nicely done.....See Aston Martin. But on the C6 they look like some cheap Pep Boys kit.

When I was 10 I liked boobies, Get Smart, Trans Ams and Yamaha Seca Turbos.

I still like all of them.

Is it our fault you grew up 10 years too late?

Pop-ups add weight, mechanical & electrical complexity, reduce effectiveness of the lights, are prone to breakage, hurt aerodynamics, and generally detract from the car in pretty much every single way.

You're not kidding. I have no idea how many sets of motors/gears I've been through on my '95 Formula. There's a guy that makes brass (or aluminum, depending on material pricing) gears for them. My next step is either those or custom-fabricating some kind of non-popup headlight system for it.

had my celica for a few years the lights always failed me.

The lights would pop up to random points every time, sometimes I could see where I was driving, sometimes I would look at the trees and sky, and sometimes i wouldn't look at anything

This is the main reason I'm dissapointed with the C6 Corvette, they ditched the pop-ups and installed those ugly beady-eyes. They remind me of all the teenagers who take their cheap hatchback and replace their stock headlights with a "kustom" beady-eye kit.
You look at the end of your hood to help you "point" the car?? LOL

The C6 is by far the best 'Vette ever made and an excellent styling piece. Pop ups would be disgusting and outdated. And if you knew anything about the earlier 'Vettes that did have pop ups you would know those fuckin things failed ALOT

It's just a subliminal thing......It "looks" cool to see them at the end of the hood......that's all.

By the far the best Vette technologically, yes. But the best-looking? Not IMO.......especially not with those lights that look like something a teenager fabricated in his garage.

This is not in offense to you, because Ive heard this so many times over the years. But that is a fairly ignorant statement. I spent most of my life from 16-30 in the auto service biz. I worked for every GM line except Caddy, worked for an independent for a long time that serviced all Jap and American line autos and worked for a high end Euro independent that service Jag, Benz, BMW, Ferrari, Maserati, and many others. And I can assure you. EVERY single manufacturer Ive ever come across has built and designed their fair share of dog shit cars. Every one of them. And everyone of them have also built some GREAT cars.
