i dvr'd it, hoping for it to be a real nice feast for the eyes in HD, but it was 60% black and white photos of people i care nothing about and the history of the govt setting up the parks programs. i turned it off.

It's both, most of it is history, but it has some nice views too. It's more for the history buffs out there instead of the easily bored must have entertainment now type people.

are you suggesting that people more interested in HD cinematography than mundane history are "easily bored must have entertainment now type people" ?

more so than mundane history people, theres nothing exciting about a historical documentary. It's learning, where as showing people stunning new tech images of gorgeous scenery is much more exciting. Hell, when HD first came out you could entertain brainless morons with a pic of a buttery fly in HD. I know, I did that all the time when I worked at best buy and sold the TVs to brainless morons.

eh you are jumping to all kinds of conclusions and making a whole lot of assumptions about people, taste and intelligence.... but whatever. the commercial for the mini series that i saw made it out to be more of an HD showcase than a historical report, so i was disappointed.

I'm even more interested now.
I love knowing the history of places. I'll get my HD fix in person.
