Don't bother with Plasma period. It's dead technology. They are selling them cheap because it didn't pan out and LCD and LED technology surpasses it easily now.

So you are saying LCDs have blacks that are just as good, or motion? I haven't encountered any so far.

The new LCDs have motion that is comparable now if you get into the 240Hz range of TVs, blacks are a lot better than they were. LEDs far out strip Plasma.

Plasmas are in closeout. They are trying to sell off stock and then you won't see them. Look at a sale paper, they want these things gone.

Not true. Only the higher end LCDs today are able to match or beat the picture quality of a good plasma. Youll be paying $2000 for the LCD vs $1000 for the plasma. The only clear advantage that all LCDs have over a plasma is in brightness, which may or may not be an issue depending on the viewing room. Plasmas are still good TVs.

Also, a 120Hz LCD will be a noticeable improvement over a 60Hz LCD but usually 240Hz isnt that much better than 120Hz when it comes to motion blur and 24p movies.

LCD prices are dropping as well. The reason Plasma is that cheap is because they are shutting down the lines. Research it, plasma is fading away. No one is investing in it anymore. Everyone is moving to LCD/LED.

They are good TVs, but they are dead tech. It's not something people are investing in and pursuing = dead tech.

Plasmas will be long gone before long.

I just picked up a 32" Dynex from Futureshop (Best Buy's Canadian sister store) for my bedroom. Works great so far. I wasnt interested in anything fancy for my Bedroom so the $299 CAN price tag was great. I had a hard time finding a 26" for that price.

True, they will be gone, but if you can get one for a good deal, who cares? Seems like most of you ballers get a new one every 2-3 years anyway, based on how much you post about electronics here. So it's not like it's going to die or need service before you get rid of it.
