I've been called for jury duty twice. Never got on a case though. Never even got close.

Both times I was released mid morning on the first day and didn't have to return the rest of the week.

I've been called 3 times and got on one case. Another time they pretty much kicked me out because I admitted that I had heard of the law firm representing the defendant and it was my opinion that they were ambulance chasers and prompted people to sue that normally woundn't and he asked the judge to excuse me.

The most recent time in the county I now live in I was scheduled for THIS week actually but then got a letter that they had cancelled this week and they would just throw my name back into the hat...works for me !!

Here, jury duty means hearding 200-300 people into a room to sit on their ass for 4-5 hours, and later told that only 20 of them have been chosen for futher processing.
