Yeah, but why not just use the metal stock ones? I mean the plexiglass don't really look better and the weight savings is almost negligible.

Maybe he wanted the clear look, like those lexan rims... I have cf heel guards because I like the way they look. He was basically cool with me until the holes in the frame. Everything he did to his bike prior, including the goofy exhaust, isn't THAT radical and has been used on other bikes.

From looking through his flickr photos, this guy was all about weight saving and aerodynamics. He has pics of weighing his turn signals vs. stock ones, weighing his plexiglass heel guards vs. stock, weighing his exhaust vs. stock, etc. And I agree, yeah, his stuff is cheesy, but nothing majorly wrong with it until cutting holes in the frame.

This reminds me of my first car, how I took some cardboard and made a "ram air tube" that went from the grill to the air filter neck. The placebo effect convinced me that it gave me more power.

From dealerships that have loose morals in their financing department.

Apparently you forgot the 4 air cleaners he used claiming he can now go 56,000 miles between changes and the exhaust that looks like an oil funnel.
