My mom refuses to get rid of the old set of Encyclopedias that my dad bought over a decade ago.. I keep telling her the information is out of date, and the internet tends to be an easier and faster reference anyway. I did keep the classic literature books out of that set when I moved out, though. THOSE are worth keeping hard copies.
