It's very heavy, luckily lenoir city cops are nice and have small gas cans. I was like a 1/4 mile from the station too, I thought I could make it.

that had to suck, I have had to push a bike or 2 for mechanical failures and the such but so far never ran out of gas. I did coast into a few station on fumes though

I "thought" I had run out of gas about 20 years ago on a 88 Ninja 600R (first bike) but then remembered it had a reserve switch/tank. I had actually go off of the bike and started walking before I remembered...dumbazz move but it never happened again.

Same here, I track mileage in an iPod touch app. The fuel guage on my bike isnt recise enough for me, I like to know exactly how many miles I have left in my tank, Ive had to push out of gase bikes before. In my car the fuel guage ususally works but every once in a while it will just go to empty for no reason.

I had an old Chevy P/U years ago that had a broken gas gauge so I had to use my trip odometer to know when to get fuel. About every 150 miles. 16 gallon tank @ 10MPG highway. More frequent if I was heavy on the gas pedal.
