But thats the point, none of them have real powers. Just the Doc, thats what makes him so pivotal to the story.

I think that you need a penis to enjoy this movie. But I could have done without the 7 foot wang all over the screen

hmmm....must be the estrogen, I missed that part - I mean how do they consider themselves Watchmen then - the masks? Genetics? Ok. Maybe now I need to rent the DVD and try to discover the redeeming quality. And watch dick, er, Doc some more.

Not around here, it's hard to see any movie without a ton of people this close to release. You have to wait weeks. We have a ton of those type of people that will sit right fuckin next to you in an empty theater as well and I am not one that has to sit in the middle at the perfect aisle either. I sit in weird places where people don't normally sit and these fuckers still come find me. There is one good theater here that has these aisle seats that only have 2 seats with an aisle separating you from the rest of the theater and a balcony so no one can sit in front of you. I usually get the fuckin loud son of a bitches behind me still though and the seat kickers. I just have terrible luck going to the movies. I always have a bad time because of some douchebag.

They explained in one of the flashbacks that they started out as a bunch of cops who were tired of not being able to keep up with the gangs because they had to abide by the law, so they became masked heros and took the law into their own hands.

Then over time the originals were either killed, locked up, or retired. The new watchmen were the Owl 2, Silk Specter 2, Dr Manhattan, Rorschach, Olbivert, and the only original watchmen, Comedian.

They just did it because they could beat up criminals and get away with it.

Then tthe deal with Dr Manhattan was that he was the only one with actual powers, so it made him the perfect scapegoat to blame the mass destruction at the end on. The whole point of the movie was that Olbivert was the bad guy doing bad for the greater good, and once it was done everyone had to follow him and keep up the lie or there would be a nuke war on the horizon again.

It's an award winning storyline and I quite enjoyed it. As to the powers thing I'm a fan of old radio and movie serials, so two-fisted heroes work just fine by me.

Then again two people beating the ever loving shit out of a hallway full of hard asses shows that maybe whup-ass is a pretty good power to have.

Definitely worth owning on DVD.
