Hell, we still have the tube tv my husband bought for himself as a teenager as our only tv. It's 11 years old and still cranking. It shows the 2 hours worth of sitcoms that we watch a week just fine.
Agreed!

Before I married I didn't have a TV and my dad bought me a little 17". I put it in the closet.

He just bought me a 40" Samsung flat screen something or other because I wasn't going to have a TV in my new place now either. This TV is for my son to watch, otherwise it would be in the closet too. I'm not sure why people that don't like or watch TV make other people uncomfortable.

Don't get me started on how good PS3 games and Blu-Ray movies look...

You know what? I bet you cheap fuckers don't even have a Harmony remote either. That's another must have item! Type in the info on all of your electronics, plug the remote into your computer and tada all set! Man oh man, you tight wads don't know what you are missing!!!
The bigger you go, the more the picture quality makes a difference. I hate watching regular tv on my 46". I will watch a rerun on HD before I will watch something new on regular tv in most cases.

Aw you guys are too funny!

Red crawlies happen when there's a lot of red on the screen and you get some dot crawl.

Samsung Series 8000 LED 55''

I don't spend any money on cigarettes, illegit kids, abortions, alcohol, drugs, prostitutes, BMWs(). Everybody spends their money on something.

Nice TV no doubt...I must have missed the thread that spurned this one though.

We enjoy and have zero issues with our Samsung 46" LCD...no it's not an LED but it sure rocks. We have BluRay as well and enjoy it.

I even like my little 20" in the garage...it's also hooked up to DirecTV. Tig do you have a TV in your garage...I mean you do have a garage right ?

Oh yeah...I don't have a Harmony remote so I may have to look into that...there is 4 or 5 remotes on my table right about now.

A quick note on the Harmony remotes. Yes they work well and remove a lot of remote clutter but if you are using a PS3 for your bluray player it will not work without an additional adapter (MSRP $59).

To me the Harmony thing makes sense only if you just bought all your gear. But if you've had your shit for quite some time and you're already familiar with your remotes, why waste time learning & setting up something new.

Because it takes 10 minutes to set-up and gets rid of all your other remotes.

One button press turns on your TV and sets the correct input, turns on your receiver and the correct input, and turns on your satellite/dvd player. Even replaces the remote for your thermostat, ceiling fan, lighting...

It's intuitive enough to use it doesn't take much (any, really) time to learn how to use it.
