Yes their bussiness model is based around the fact that old people (like my dad) are scared to stop paying for the service because they have had the same email address for the past 20 years and what will people do if they have to change thier email address? I'm serious about this:

My dad has been paying $10 a month for the past decade, and $25 a month for the decade before that. Here is the kicker, he's had broadband through cable company since somewhere around 2000 so he hasn't had to pay for it since then. The only reason he pays that money is that he doesnt want to loose his email address.

I was on compuserve. Went to MSN like two years later. Stayed there til we got high speed cable.

Speaking of AOL, there was a civil engineer (female) at work that's Russian. She was still on AOL a year ago and paying for 25 hours a month. When we found out, we laughed excessively. We had a bunch of fun explaining to her how many years had passed since everybody started offering unlimited hours.

If you knew this lady, you knew she would never say something like this as a joke, this was completely serious.
