Hmmm... I'm sorry. The bracket for my bike is 3/16 thick steel that wraps around the frame at the corner. I admit that I ASSumed that they would make one just as sturdy for your bike.

Tigger also depends on how the frame is... ya know... it may be easier to make the slider sturdy on yours and it be a no cut... but for the R6 it may require it to be a bit weaker to allow the no cut.

I lowsided in T1 at JGP on my GSXR and the slider saved my bike. I lost the front at over 100mph and the bike was fine! They're specially designed, two-part sliders, with replacebale pucks. The pucks cost $15, so if you go down, instead of replacing the entire set-up, all you have to replace is the puck. Plus the design is such that it's a LOT stronger than most and it's very easy to replace. The owner of woodcraft is a professional racer, and thought that most of the stuff out there was crap, so he started his own company and made his own parts. Check them out:

Believe me, I know all about the rep of no-cuts vs. cuts. They make no-cuts that mount on very sturdy adapters now and that's what I'm going to get. I'm well aware of how good Woodcrafts are, had two buddies go down on them, one snapped and one held up fine. the one that snapped wasn't a no-cut either.

You are probably right... Hey Dlit,I came up with this super easy way to mount sliders on your bike. You take the fairing piece off and set up a laser pointer to the center of your mounting bolt. Put the plastic back on and mark that hole and drill with the appropriate hole saw...

Okay,okay actually CEO turned me on to this method,I've never had to cut my fairing to install sliders(didn't realize until after buying Harris no cuts. GSXR1000s can use regular frame sliders without cutting anything. At most you may need to trim the plastic back a 1/4 or so.

For what it's worth,I'd go with Woodcrafts too! In fact,while I was checking for your bike I put in a $50 bid on a set!

Don't do it period.

You know the cons and you have the skills to do it right with the direct bolt slider. Small price to pay to leave on bike when sold vs. other possibility's.

The problem is not only that they break off, they also rotate. And no matter how beefy the bracket is, it wont prevent the bracket from rotating. I had a set of no-cuts and they both rotated AND broke, which cracked and then rashed my plastics.

I hope those work better for you than mine did for me.
