Sorry to hear that. I hope you find something soon. The silver lining in all of this is you are getting plenty of warning. At least they didn't blindside you.

hey ed, sorry to hear it. i was in the same place a few years back,(i'm elec design as well) what worked for me was going back to school for mech design. suddenly you are an asset to companies because they are trying to join the two so they don't have to pay for a mech and elec dept. just a thought.
find out which mech package is prevalent in your area and get a few classes in it. lots of times unemployment office will pay for retraining. best of luck |

designer, not engineer. Elec.
we do all the work and the engineers get the glory........lol Quote:
yeah, i;ve thought of that......this is the first time in my life that i expect to be unemployed for any length of time, let alone the whole family resposonsibility stuff. i think you can collect unemplyment for liek 11mos total now, and the gov't does give you the opp. to retrain some more so i may just do that. Troy, keep an eye out , both of us really liked your neck of the woods and if there was anyplace we'd move it'd be to NC

Sorry to hear it, Ed. Especially around the holidays. Sucks balls. At the very least, you have a decent notice; at least you didn't find out about it as they are walking you to the door.
Good luck with your job search. |
