Maybe because we don't want to wear out parts? Not only is the bulb a wear item, but so is the headlight motor (My car has flip-up lights and the motors are expensive to replace).
Also depends what KIND of rain you're talking about.....If it's a downpour, sure I'll turn them on, but a fucking sprinkle? Uh no. |

Let me guess, your car is either: silver, gray, beige or white?

My Jeep automatically turns the headlights on if the wipers are on, so I dont even think about it.

I don't even use my DRLs, I just leave my full headlights on all the time, the tun off when I get out of the car, and that is it.

I was just thinking about this the other day.. and it's really raining hard out there today. Back in Jersey it was just common sense to flip the switch when it's raining, but since I moved here its the complete opposite.. why?! I hate it because sometimes I'm not even aware someone is there until they're on top of me.. scares the shit out of me sometimes.

I don't know if it is an intentional decision not to turn on their headlights. I think it doesn't even occur to some people to turn on their lights until it helps their own visibility. In their mind if they can see, everyone else must be able to see them.

The people who don't turn them on in the rain are those who did it before but forgot to turn them off and came back to a car with a dead battery. They got burned once and will never do it again.

Why? Because I'm a fucking Ninja, that's why!
It's the first thing you learn in Ninja school. No headlights. Ever. JC
