Anybody have experience with Hitachi power tools?

Hitachi makes some great heavy equipment. But use their powertools for wiping your ass cause they are worthless.

In pool table work I used Dewalt powertools every single day and used them extremely hard. Including big drops and setting a peice of slate on our impact. We never properly charged the battery for 3+ years(Used the same drill and impact) and our 12v ran stronger than other companies 18v drills/impacts that were new.

I never liked Milwakee chordless tools but love their chord tools. I've just never had good experiences with them. But I have only used a few Milwakee chordless tools and tons of chorded cutters, grinders, etc with nothing but great results and dependability.

If you want to just drill a hole in your wall to hang a dart board or a picture. Go cheap. Plan on working on a car, bike, or using it extensivily. Suck it up and get a Dewalt or a high quality brand.

I went over there to look at it again, turns out it's a factory refurbished (which I usually find to be better than the original new products), and comes with the factory warranty (the dude there said 6 months, but the warranty stuff that came with it says 5 years). Nice. I forgot about the warranty. That was another reason I wanted one. It had a longer warranty and better price then the big name units. I would double check the warranty on that unit. I think most refurb units have a shorter warranty so 6 months. Might be right.

What brand were your tools you traded in? That seems like a low trade in value. You might been would have been farther ahead keeping the tools and selling a cup of sperm.
