Then I crashed coming out of the bowl pretty hot trying not to mutilate a girl in front of me who lowsided and slid right on the racing line due to the slope of the ground.

Here's a shot of her sliding on the racing line:

Here's a shot of me and my bike barely missing her:

Getting up after the aftermath:

Blew out a seam on the IXS suit:

Held Phantoms held up great, left:

Right:

Helmet face shield (and chin a little bit):

Bike:

Can got squashed somehow, I think it hit the tires/fence:

Hands down, tank slider saved the entire bike. If you have a late model r6 and aren't running these, you're rolling the dice:

Figured out all the insurance stuff. Getting paid for the entire estimate of damages as well as a replacement helmet.

TONS of goodies are on the way and I'm picking up the bike this weekend and starting to take it apart.

Ordered about 3g's of stuff today

Organized/worked on the garage a bit:

Got new lid and got paid for it in full by insurance. Arai RX-7 Corsair Josh Hayes Replica:

The black paint is metallic... it's fucking sweet. I tried to get a closeup:

Got the check in the mail today for the entire estimate of damages.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to pick up the bike and a lot of the parts I ordered. A couple things won't be showing up until monday.

This bike is going to have a full kit of street and track gear, as well as lots of cool parts. And I still haven't spent all the money

Forgot to update this last week when I updated the rebuild thread. Will soon be updating for this weekend's work... and work will be continuing after work horus this week as well.

I drained the coolant completely and pulled the radiator off:

Pulled the exhaust and headers:

Radiator and exhaust systems:

Pulled the gas tank off:

Pulled the gas cap and fuel pump and cleaned the tank:

Jesus christ! I brought half of the turn 6 runoff gravel home with me...:

MMmmmmmm dirty track day oil:

Here's how she sits as of now, completely devoid of all fluids, plastics, radiator, exhaust, rearsets, etc etc...:

Did more work and got more parts

More things Showed up:

- Tank sliders
- Dzus fasteners and windshield nuts/bolts
- PCIII USB
- Fresh radiator
- ALL the stock fairings, a fresh gas tank, headlight, taillight, both seats, ppegs, signals, hotbodies undertail, windscreen etc etc... got everything for a grand, and everything is absolutely perfect and mint condition
- Full akrapovic SS exhaust system with CF can:

- Decals for race plastics... replicas of the MotoGP 2007 Valencia scheme

Then I got to work.

Debadged the tank:

Then I installed the fuel pump and gas cap and put the tank aside for later.

Threw in the BMC race filter:

Removed right side cover:

Stripped a fucking thread:

Fixed that fucker:

NOW the cover is on:

Did the left side case cover:

Cleaned the RIDICULOUSLY DIRTY chain and sprockets:

Right Rearset on there:

Wiseass buddy installed the left rearset incorrectly and put a gixxer sticker on the tank. Fucking gixxer squids...

Then Jim left and I fixed the linkage:

Installed the baddest-fucking-ass exhaust ever:

This bike is going to be fucking nasty.

Mounted a whiteboard above my toolchests:

Picked up a full Zaino detailing kit... this shit is head and shoulders above other detailing products. No joke.

Mounted up the new radiator and filled with engine ice:

Removed the stock O2 sensor and installed the PCIII... downloaded the DynoJet map for my setup on there temporarily until I get a map:

Mounted up the new gas tank:

Filled her up with fluids and took a shitty video... I'll take a better one soon:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=SAHLl_xkkyk

Mounted the track bodywork:

Cut frame slider holes:

Mounted the new set of tank sliders:

Drilled/cut frame slider holes in the street plastics:

Threw on some sexy TWFix stickers as well:

Then I stripped her all down again, and got everything I'm painting ready for paint. The full set of track bodywork, the airbox cover, my backup gas tank, the stock fender and the two midfairings:

Now she's just hanging out waiting for next week's track days, as am I

Thursday at 2pm I'm getting a dyno and custom map done for the bike.

Monday on my way up to the track I'll be grabbing the bodywork.

Got a sweet sox flag for the garage from Ebbs (thanks!):

Got some cleaning brushes, 1/4 T-handle, spring puller, cable luber, 3/8 T-handle with spin bearing:

Got a set of ratcheting wrenches... metric, 8-19mm, and have the X-Beam handles for comfort:

Helds had some minor repair, and grabbed a new seat cowl:

Got the bike dynoed and a custom map made:

Silky smooth torque curve in the powerband. Can't wait to ride her:

Installed exhaust slider:

Got my suit back from repairs. Silver panel, black patch, and crotch patch are all new. Guy did an amazing job.

Bike felt fucking awesome at the track. Still waiting on pics and video and stuff... was only able to find one shot online:

Bodywork is back with the painter. Shit's gonna be sick.

More to come...

Mounted a hook for my suit in the garage

Received and installed the woodcraft 3 piece brake lever that was backordered

Threw a Puig black double bubble windscreen on the stock front cowling. Have a clear oem for the race plastics. No switching necessary now.

Threw on the new pazzo clutch lever, will keep the rashed one as a spare

Threw on a fresh set of stompgrips

Put most of the stock fairings and lights back on

I found a couple pics that some spectators took from the last track days. This series through T6 and T7 up into T8 I thought was pretty cool.

Hard on the gas

Wish this one was in focus, I like it.

Starting to pick my body up to throw it over into T8
