Does your BMW have heated grips, or do you just have really good gloves? Also, what gear are you wearing when riding in the colder weather?

Damn, -5 is fucking cold. And why was your bike stuck in Omaha?

rode it up there in late dec before xmas, with the plan that I'd trailer it back behind my girlfriends truck... but she got snowed in, in Rapid City, and couldn't make the drive. my tires were pretty much shot... had about another 500 miles on them at most, and the trip home is 1100 even by the shortest route. couldn't find any local shops that had my size in stock, and didn't have enough time to order a set. so I borrowed his car for a month and a half then drove it back up in mid Feb to ride back down.

I'm not sure to be honest that what I hit was truely -5... didn't feel that cold when I stopped... but it was windy and that's what the bank reader said... I do know I didn't want it to get any colder...

In addition to the tires, it is best to take a complete walk around the entire bike checking it over (even if you have been able to ride all winter).

I also have my own "circuit" that I take to shake off the rust and allow the senses to return.
