okay, these are boots but they are easy to put on...and they come in women's sizes for $60

Those are similar to what I sold Tennessee Stud for his girl. I still want more of a shoe.

Trouble with Doc Martens or any kind of steel-toe boots is that the toe box is too high from top to bottom........making it very hard to shift unless you've got a cruiser

Very few Doc's are steel toed. I've been wearing them since I've started riding..

I understand. I would think the A8 one-o-ones that I initially posted are going to protect my ankle more than my steel toe shoes because they are shoes, no high top of any kind.

They are thick in that regard but I don't have any problem shifting in mine.

Back in May I bought the Alpinestars Miglia.

I like them pretty well. Definitely not suitable for anyone with a wide foot as these run quite narrow.

If you put jeans/pants over them, then they look like normal shoes. They seem to be built tough and feel as if they'd stay on in a crash and even provide some ankle protection. You can walk around them all day and I've even worn them out on the town.

I've actually added a Dr Schols insert to them and they feel even better. If you want a shoe, I'd look into the shift shoes.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the do feel kind of heavy when you grab them but I don't even notice the extra weight while wearing them.
