What's funny is the guy was starting to get all tough so some of the other judges came over to see what was going on.

The look on the scrawny little runt's face when he was being faced down by 4-5 black belts, none of whom were below 2nd degree (and all of whom were performing some kind of weapons form later in the day and also all of whom were all warmed up for kumite), was priceless.

Wife and i had a discussion on that and how all kids get trophies. Told her if his team sucks and he doesnt do well that trophy gets tossed, none of this BS in rewarding mediocrity or worse.

We were at a dance recital and the parents could buy a trophy to give to their child. A RECITAL, not a competition... kids now have the expectation of a trophy. Made me want to punch parents in the face.
