I wonder what floppies do in the microwave, AOL CDs put on one hell of a show.

they just sorta melt unless it's the 3.5" ones with the metal flap covering the magnetic surface - those spark a bit.

Funny. My first job out of college was manufacturing floppies in Bumfukt Oklahoma. At the time, 3.5" floppies were booming, but we did 5.25" floppies once a quarter, and 8" floppies once per year. Once CDR's became cheap, it was the end of the line for floppies and my time in OK. Good times, good times.

I remember buying PC games, sealed in plastic baggies, on 5.25 and 3.5 floppies. With printed instruction manuals! Rockford on Amiga 2600 FTW!
